Decisions I made
- Pilot on one curriculum. OMAP was the only complete curriculum in early August, so we piloted NOVA on OMAP alone, and I asked engineering to hide the other curricula until they were ready.
- Test question quality with clinicians. I brought in a member of our medical board and an advanced technician from his practice to go through NOVA, and passed their feedback on question quality to engineering.
- Explain placements in plain language. In QA, I flagged that the explanation at the end of a placement read like a technical log, with ability scores and internal codes. Engineering rewrote it to say what the learner did well, where the gaps were and why that fits their level. I approved the new version.
- Let leaders try it. I proposed an "Experience NOVA" quick link on the leader dashboard, which engineering built, so leaders can go through the same placement their technicians do.
After placement, learners continue their curriculum in Absorb, our external LMS.
